Dear
As a “past-Member” of Rathfarnham Parish Badminton Club, the current club members would be delighted if you could join them in the 75th celebrations of the club.
Rathfarnham Parish Badminton Club, 75th Anniversary, Saturday 27th May, 2017, 8pm. Whitehall Road Badminton Centre
We are very proud of our longevity as a club and the hard work people give voluntarily within the club, which no doubt many of you have contributed to over the years which has led to this long term success. As a result in order to give something back to the badminton community we are organising a celebratory 75th Anniversary tournament in Whitehall Road, Badminton Centre on 27th May 2017. This will be followed by a social celebration in the upstairs venue of the Badminton Centre along with a Raffle.
Why not relive some of your badminton days, (here’s some of my own memories) - from Doris Murphy calling the lines tucked up in her blanket, to the Tectors shouting “up the Parish”, where many a jumper or baby blanket was knitted or crocheted at the back of the court, to those late night matches when you got home after all the pubs closed - sober! Trying to figure out how Roundwood, Carlow, Kildare, Rush ended up in a Dublin league and hope you didn’t get them all in your section!
Do you have any special memories or memorabilia that you could share with us? Team pictures, social events or why not take a picture of a trophy that’s lurking somewhere. Either send via email to [email protected] or post to Lynn Frost, 41 Butterfield Park, Rathfarnham, Dublin 14.
Please RSVP if you are/not available to attend to [email protected] or on 087 2450391.
You can find out the latest information on the club and its 50 members on our website www.rathfarnhampbc.weebly.com or facebook on “Rathfarnham Parish Badminton Club”. Did you know we now play out of 2 four courts halls (Ballinteer Community School and De la Salle, Churchtown), but we still have the use of the Memorial Hall and Crannagh on a Thursday night for matches.
So lets make a racket and have a party - looking forward to catching up with some familiar faces on Sat 27th May.
